Edna Mae Howard, 71, of Warsaw, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at the Lincoln
Family Clinic in Lincoln.
She was born Dec. 19, 1931, in Remsen, Iowa, a daughter of Paul and Mary Strohbeen
Arnes. In 1956, in Remsen, Iowa, she was married to Jackie Howard, who survives
of the home.
Mrs. Howard grew up on a farm in Iowa and graduated from high school there.
In the early 1950's, she moved to Leavenworth, Kan., where she was employed at
Bell Telephone as an operator. After marriage, the family lived in Neosho and
then in Texas for several years. They moved to Warsaw in 1998. She enjoyed
playing cards and sewing. She made clothes for many friends and family members.
She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Warsaw.
Survivors also include a son, David Howard, of Loveland, Colo.; and a
brother, Ray Arnes, of LeMars, Iowa. She was predeceased by her parents, one
brother and three sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ann's Catholic Church,
Warsaw, with Father Richard Colbert officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday at the Fort Leavenworth Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kan.
There will be no visitation.
